EUCF

We are now National Hub for the European City Facility in #Finland for EUCF:

Advising and supporting municipalities to secure Clean energy transition funds

The EU City Facility (EUCF) provides lump sums of EUR 60,000 to help municipalities and local authorities develop investment concepts for sustainable energy projects. With simplified financial support, it helps turn climate and energy action plans into solid investment proposals. By combining smaller projects into bigger plans, cities can attract funding more easily and speed up the switch to clean energy.

8th call opens on October 26,2026

The eighth call for proposals under the European City Facility program opens on October 26, 2026. It offers a one-time grant of 60,000 euros to 62 European municipalities at a time.

The grants are intended to support the development of investment plans for energy efficiency measures, heating and cooling measures, clean energy measures, or combinations thereof.

The call for proposals is open until December 21, 2026 (5:00 p.m. Brussels time) and is funded by the European Union’s LIFE program. The call for proposals is open to applicants from across the European Union, as well as from Ukraine, Iceland, Moldova, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Additional calls are planned for next year, so it’s possible to start exploring the topic now and apply in 2027!

To date, the European City Facility program has supported over 400 municipalities and local public entities in developing investment plans for clean energy or energy efficiency.

Before applying, a municipality must have a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) or an equivalent strategy in place. Heating and cooling plans are now also accepted.

To date, 377 investment plans have been approved, with a combined planned investment target of over 30 billion euros and a goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 11 million metric tons per year.
